About

Arlene (O’hrlyn) grew up in Israel in an environment of Arts, theatre, music, dance and literature. Her drawings capture feelings of raw fluid rhythm as seen in some of her works in Portraiture, Fragmented and Abstract Expressionism art.  A love for Nature Conservation drew her to return to her country of birth, South Africa, where she spent three decades in remote game reserves. Through her journey she observed San Rock Art tribal cultural, Folk art, Wildlife and Traditional dance that influenced her art.

Throughout her Artistic path her work evolved from that of conventional art practices such as drawing, painting and sculpture to researching the language of art through sound. This technique is known as abstract visual music art and Synesthesia in The Arts.

The abstract visual art form of Synesthesia is largely experimental, focusing on sense perceptions. Arlene now works out of her art studio (O’hrlyn Yagil) at the arts centre in Kibbutz Neot Semadar, Israel.
